BALLET, MODERN & TAP

Our Dance Classes are held in Epsom from Monday to Saturday. Classes are progressive and students move through the grades following the IDTA syllabus as they grow more experienced.

These classes are taught separately but conveniently held one after another wherever possible to make it easy for students to study more than one dance style. These class combinations are also charged as a package so you pay for the time spent in class rather than by style.

From aged 3 to 4 children will be in our Little Stars classes and will learn a combination of Ballet, Tap and Modern in their classes. At this level students follow the Preparatory IDTA syllabus.

From aged 4 to 6 children will be in our Rising Stars classes and will learn a combination of Ballet, Tap and Modern in their classes. At this level students follow the Preparatory IDTA syllabus.

Aged 7 and over children move into our Junior, Bronze, Silver or Gold classes and follow the Primary to Grade 3 IDTA syllabus for Ballet, Tap and Modern.

Aged 14 and over OR working at Grade 4 and above, more experienced dancers move into our Platinum classes and follow the IDTA syllabus for Ballet, Tap and Modern.

We welcome students at any age and ability and all new students will be invited to a FREE TRIAL to enable us to assess the class level that they should join.

Each week children focus on singing, dancing and acting - each for half an hour. They are split into smaller groups

dependent on age range and ability and also work as a full ensemble for some performance pieces providing a wonderful sense of team work and spirit.

LYRICAL

Lyrical dance is a hugely popular dance style and we are delighted to bring it to our timetable for September 2020. Lyrical dance is a combination of ballet and jazz dance that often uses music with lyrics to inspire the movements of the dancer. We also incorporate contemporary moves and acro tricks for even more exciting classes and outstanding performances.

STREET DANCE & COMMERCIAL

Street and Commercial dance emerged in the 1950s as a way for dancers to push against the strict constraints of traditional styles such as ballet and be free to experiment. Dancing to modern music, commercial dance incorporates moves from all genres including jazz, ballet, hip hop, breakdance, popping and krumping. With street dance becoming ever the more popular, it is constantly evolving and broadening to include new popular moves.

These classes are fun, social and full of energy and open to students aged 4 - 18 across three levels - Mini Street (aged 4-8), Junior Street (aged 8-11) and Commercial (aged 11-18). Classes follow the IDTA Street Syllabus and exams can be taken throughout.
